She is just beautiful! I am praying that she will turn a corner soon and will begin to enjoy her new family. Those smiles will be here soon! I can't wait!
Thanks, Bill. Oh those tears just break my heart. She is just so beautiful, though. I know it's so hard to see her sad...she'll be OK. Just keep loving on her. Remember how often you had to remind me about the 3 day rule.
awwww. Heather. THank you so much for sharing all those precious pictures. They really tell the story. I am in tears after watching all of her emotions. I cannot imagine what a little girl would feel. SHe doesn't know yet how wondeful it will be soon to have a real family. I adore how her teachers are taking the time to help her through it. ANd then sound asleep, trustingly in your room. She is just so pretty and sweet. God Bless her little heart. I know so many are praying for her and for you all during this amazing time. Hold on. God is near and will see you all through. What an angel she is. Please, please post more when you get a chance., I am hanging on my seat waiting to see you all okay!! Praying hard!
PS I went and looked up a few things in case they could be of use. They might not hit the nail on the head but probably couldn't hurt anything..anyway you know so many are thinking of you...
Jeremiah 29:11 “For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.”
Isaiah 40:28-31 “Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and strengthens the powerless. Even youths will faint and be weary, and the young will fall exhausted; but those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings of eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”
Isaiah 41:10 “…do not fear, for I am with you, do not be afraid, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.”
Isaiah 43: 1-2 “Thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.”
I am praying so hard for you guys right now, and knowing this is our reality in a few months. Oh how it tears my heart apart knowing what they have and are having to go through!!!!! I am still so mad that they made her go back to the "O"...I know it would still be a hard adjustment, but this did not make it any easier!!!!!!! I can't wait to see our girls sleeping together again in the US. I am praying for you daily and you should be up right now, and I will pray for you until I go to sleep. I won't be able to get her and her little heart out of my mind!!!!!! Hopefully returning to Bethel will help so much! Have you told her the good news about Chun Yan yet? Maybe that will bring a smile to her face.
Rosanna said a prayer tonight asking God to help Calliandra feel better. I hate to be a downer, but I wouldn't bet on it all being better in 3 days. The grieving came in waves for Jenna and Rosanna, esp the last part of Guangzhou when it really sank in that they were leaving China forever. It will get better though - just don't be in despair if it takes longer than 3 days.
Charlotte pointed me to your blog. Someone has already mentioned verses that should be an encouragement to you. I am hoping that the 3 days "rule" will be true this time for you....it was for two of our adoptions. But please, don't set yourself up for a downfall if she isn't doing well by then. Our older daughter grieved for the entire time we were in China, and really wanted nothing to do with us. Remember, God is guiding you, and it may take more time, but eventually she should respond to the love you have for her. With older kids it sometimes takes longer. Hang in there, looks like you have good prayer support, take a break out by yourself, and your husband too, and hang in there. Will be watching for good news soon.
You don't know me, my name is Kim, my husband and I have 2 children adopted from China. We adopted our daughter this past November when she was nearly 5 years old. She had a very very hard time! Just know it gets better and you will start to see improvement. I know it is so hard to see your daughter grieve but it is so good that she is able to get it out.
May the Lord give you all rest as you make this huge transition. And may He give your beautiful daughter a calmness in her spirit that speaks to her and lets her know that everything is going to be all right.
Our Philosophy: To Whom Much is Given, Much is Expected.
We walk by faith, not by sight Trust in the Lord for your daily Manna, he will give you what you need, when you need it. Do not store it up for it will go bad but use what he gives you fully every day.
Our Blog Content: Life with our son Acer, adopted Mother's day 2007. Acer is a joy and is a constant source of amazement and delight to us; so much so that we have to share the joy here and there or burst. Calliandra is now home with us, adopted 5/4/2009. She is called sunshine and Acer joy, so our lives will be filled to overflowing with good things.
Our Request: Parenting is an art, always in need of improvement and practice, so please help us by lifting us up in your prayers. Heather & Bill

Hang in there- these kiddos are tough but the grief can really wipe them out. Patience, love and time are the solution.
